Belly Dance, also known as Raqsharki (Dance of the East), is one of the oldest dance forms in history. This feminine celebratory dance can be used to lose weight, build core strength, enhance gracefulness, and inspire confidence.
The style that I hold near and dear to my heart is Egyptian. In my opinion it is the most authentic and beautiful dance.Throughout the years and all around the world there have been several styles and interpretations of Belly Dance performed such as Turkish, Lebanese, American/ African/ Indian fusion, American Tribal, Modern American Cabaret and more. I encourage those who are interested in learning belly dance to pick the style that resonates with you most. Egyptian (Raqsharki) is a good start because you learn the basics.
Classes begin Monday October 19, 2009 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
